Oh How I Love Thee

There once was a truck, not just any ordinary truck, but a magnificently old truck.  The kind of truck that once upon a time shined with glossy paint and white rimmed tires.  A truck that would get noticed as it drove down the street.  A truck that was "state of the art" for its time.  This is the truck of old, the truck that everyone wanted.

It was new and it glistened in the sun and the engine purred like a kitten.  It had seen great times, trips to the lake, the drive in and shake shop.  Its owners loved it and it them, they took care of it and treated it good......

But as time went on and the more it saw, the more worn it became.  Its paint started fading and rust began to show through.  Its white rimmed tires began to peel.  The older it got the less it was driven.  The magnificent truck was replaced by the newer, better ride of the day.  It sat in the dirt just waiting to be driven again and wished it had its glossy paint and new truck smell.

Then came a girl, a girl that loved it just the way it was.  A girl that could appreciate its life and know it was loved and cared for.  This girl would fall in love with it and wish for it to be hers.

She loved the trucks rust more than new shiny paint, she loved its faded color and missing mirror.  Nothing was better than this old truck.  She could see herself driving it and loading its bed up with found treasures.  She loved this truck with all of its faults and faded glory.
But the truck wasn't for sale, she could not have it.  She wished and wished she could, but the owners were not ready to part with it. They knew it was special. The girl new it too and she could see it for what it was, a magnificent truck.

 The End.
