Farm Chicks

I have to say that our road trip to The Farm Chicks in Spokane was not what we were expecting.  It was frustrating, long and an emotional roller coaster.  The experience was an adventure, but it was an adventure I will never take again.  Don't get me wrong I still love The Farm Chicks Antique show and I will return year after year to shop, but I will not ever be a curator again.  I will give you a day to day synopsis of how it all went down.  For now I will show you some of the wonderful booths that were there.....

The whole show really was beautiful!

Bedframe going to Spokane

I am really, really bad at taking before photos of things.  I forget in my neurotic (anxiousness) attempt to get things done.  I will work on that and hopefully get better.

Thankful

I linked up my settee with Miss Mustard Seed's Furniture Feature Friday last week.  She has been extremely busy this week getting ready for the Lucketts Spring Market.  She had her friend Breida pick her favorites this week and I was one of them.  I can't believe it!  These things never happen to me!  I am so thankful that someone loves my creations as much as I do.  Thank you so much Breida!

Farm Chick Settee

This is a small settee that I reupholstered for the Farm Chicks show.  It turned out great, unfortunately I do not have a before picture.

I painted the frame with blue, then white and distressed it.  The seat fabric is a grain sack and the back is a drop cloth, with a sugar sack over it.  I really love how it turned out and I hope someone at Farm Chicks will too.

Working

I have been working very hard to get ready for The Farm Chicks Show.  It is all so overwhelming! There is so much work to be done and some days it is hard to find the motivation.  Today is one of those days.  It is cold and windy outside, does not make a good day for sanding/painting, which makes me just want to snuggle in a blanket and hibernate.

I think Remington, our dachshund, wants me to also.  He loves to cuddle under the blanket with his people.

For now I am doing a few things inside.  That I will be able to share soon.  Also I will be looking at some inspiring photos to motivate me.

What? How long?

So, I see that I have been gone for a while.  Ok, so it has been 2 years.  What?  No way!!  It really does not seem that long at all.  I seriously can't believe it.

So much has been going on in my life that it has flow by, at like lightening speed.  I hope to share all that has been going on and will continue to go on.

I decided to start blogging again, not because I have any more time to do so, but because some exciting things are happening.

I am curating a booth at the one and only Farm Chicks this year.  I am super excited, but sooo nervous!  I have been working non stop on items for my booth.  Whether it has been treasure hunting, painting, sewing, crying or running around like a chicken with my head cut off.  (yew, I hate that saying, but it's true)

I have to say, I really am having anxiety about all of this.  I have so much to do and the time is just slipping away.  But I did want to document this event, all the hard work, fun, and drama that is going into it.  So I hope that you will all enjoy reading about this adventure I am taking.

Thank you for sticking around for all the excitement.
